LPGA Drive on Championship in Bradenton, Florida

Following our visit to Orlando for the PGA of America Show, we hit the road and went south-east past Tampa down to Bradenton, Florida to check out the LPGA Drive on Championship. Overall Bradenton is a fantastic area and I'd love to come back some day.
As the first big event of the ladies' golf season, all of the big names were there including Nelly Korda (Bradenton is her home town and she still lives in the area), Lexi Thompson, Brooke Henderson, Lydia Ko, Celine Boutier, Minjee Lee and more.
While PGA events are always fun to attend, don't sleep on LPGA events. The vibe is a bit more intimate and it's easier to gain access and get right up close to the action. It's basically the opposite of attending the US Open or any major. Ended up walking on day 2 with Lexi Thompson's family and they were very friendly and shared a lot interesting tid-bits about tour life.
With a dramatic eagle, birdie finish to force a playoff, Nelly walked away with her first win of the season. Watching her throughout the week I can say her swing looks even better in person - just smooth as butter.
